Swanage Carnival & Regatta
Published: Wednesday 4th Jul 2018
If you are looking for a fabulous event to attend in Swanage, you can’t miss the Swanage Carnival & Regatta!
Always held from the last weekend in July for a week, there are nights of fireworks that light up the beautiful bay, amazing music throughout the whole week with such varied types of music to listen to.
Grab yourself a seat in pole position to watch the colourful and always very inventive procession go along the sea front and through the town with everyone dressed up, floats created for the annual theme – this year it is Swanage Goes Safari, so we look forward to seeing many lions and zebras! Our family usually plonk ourselves along the seafront, with our picnic and glass of something cold ready to watch this lovely sight. All through the week there are fantastic things for the children to do from competitions to discos, talent shows, stunt displays and watch all the furry pooches in the dog show and plenty for adults too, enter the wheelbarrow race, this always proves very competitive. There is the usual Pimms Tent with the addition this year of Gin too, along with the Carnival Bar and so many places to grab a great bite to eat.
This is an amazing event which we look forward to every year, it brings such a lot of people and happiness to the town there is always a brilliant vibe and raises money for the Carnival to continue providing this annual event along with raising money for local charities and good causes.
There are far too many events during the week to mention but these can all be found in the Carnival Programme, which can be ordered via the Carnival website, have a browse and see what takes your fancy!
Whilst you are visiting the Sandpit Field and looking round at all the lovely things to do and buy, please pop by to our very own Wyke Marquee where we will be with information, brochures and maybe even some goodies! Come say hello and meet some of the team.
We hope that you enjoy the Swanage Carnival and Regatta as much as we do! You could always grab a brochure and make sure you get booked up early to experience it all for yourselves next year!
