A Day in the Life of our Property Manager and Quality Assessor, Kelly

Have you ever wondered what our team get up to? Kelly, our Property Manager and Quality Assessor has shared with us her typical day in the life.
I consider myself very lucky as I genuinely enjoy my job! As a Property Manager, my role is pretty varied and no two days are ever the same. My primary role is visiting potential new owners at their properties and discussing what their needs are, what Wyke Dorset Cottages can offer them and using my 10 years of experience to help guide them into making the most out of their property to help create a welcoming home that our guests will love.
I often visit our Swanage office and base myself there for the day. On a typical day I’ll check my emails, liaise with any owners who need some advice or assistance and talk to the local estate agents. They may either have a property that would make a great holiday let and would like some estimated revenue figures, or a potential purchaser who would like some professional holiday lettings advice. Then if I’m not visiting a possible new owner then I am often photographing either new properties or those that require some fresh images. It’s certainly not a 5 minute job and takes time to set the scene and get everything just right to help present it at its best. I’ll confess I’m rubbish at photographing people but get a real buzz out of producing a top quality property image, especially when I see that photo used in promotional material.
Another role I have within the company is Quality Assessor; this involves visiting each property on an annual basis and following an assessment, they are awarded a star rating along with suggestions for possible future improvements.
I love driving down country lanes and visiting all sorts of different properties. I drive my husband mad by constantly suggesting home improvements after being inspired by my visits! I cover the East of Dorset whilst my colleague Amy covers the West, give me a wave if you see my trusty little Yaris with its cheery bunting out and about!
Nature and animals are my big passion so when I’ve finished work its straight back home to walk my four dogs in the forest. I love being outdoors with my pack, it’s the best way to relax at the end of the day.
